Obituary for Cardell Bibb Pennix

Cardell Bibb Pennix, 45, went home to be with Lord on Sunday October 6, 2013 following a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Born in Louisville, Cardell was a graduate of Jeffersontown High School (1987) and a Graduate of Brown-Mackie College (2011). He was a faithful member and worker at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church for his entire life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Phillip Pennix and brother Vernon Hamby. Cardell is survived by his brother Edward Pennix (Michelle); nephews Steve, Vernon Jr. and Solomon, nieces Verquita and Grace, great niece and nephew, family, friends and his entire Mt. Olive Church family. His funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday October 10, 2013 at his church, 443 E. Kentucky St., with entombment in Evergreen Mausoleum. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the church. Arrangements are by W. P. Porter Mortuary. Pennix, Cardell Bibb, 45, of Louisville died Sunday October 6, 2013 at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. He was a graduate of Jeffersontown High School and Brown-Mackie College, a former employee of Promotional Packing, Inc and a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Cardell was preceded in death by his parents Mary and Phillip Pennix and his brother Vernon Hamby. Survivors include a brother Edward C. Pennix (Michelle); two nieces Verquita Hamby and Grace Pennix; three nephews Steve Ballard; Vernon Hamby, Jr. and Solomon Pennix and a great niece and nephew. His funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church 443 E. Kentucky St., with entombment in Evergreen Mausoleum.
