Blakely, Luther Colemon, Sr., 78, of Louisville died Sunday February 7, 2016 at his home. He was a native of Franklin, TN, a retired head waiter at the U.S. Army Officers Club at Fort Knox, a twenty year career Viet Nam Army Veteran, whom received the Bronze Star, and a member of Green Street Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters Michele D. Strickland (James); Ranelle C. Quisenberry and Toni Renee Blakely; a son Luther C. Blakely, Jr.; four sisters Emma Mae Hancock; Erline Lewis; Hester Hamilton and Willie Mai Glenn; a brother Alfonzo Blakely; two sisters in law Cora Blakely and Joann Jones; 13 grandchildren which includes Joy Grimes his granddaughter whom cared for him and 5 great grandchildren. His funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday February 15, 2016 at Green Street Baptist Church 519 E. Gray Street, with burial in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central Fort Knox, KY.
